The Philomath Frolic & Rodeo is still about four weeks away but the folks in that local organization are kicking up their heels next week with a special event for the community.

The Golden Hour Community Party, a Hawaiian-themed event for adults ages 21 and older, will run from 6-10 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the Yew Wood Corral and Beer Garden at the rodeo grounds.

The evening will include music with deejay Jay McMullin, dancing, food carts, beer and cornhole. Two-step and swing dance lessons will be offered from 6-7 p.m.

Admission is $5 at the gate.

The rodeo grounds are located at 502 S. 13th St.
