SATURDAY, MAY 4
• 3:08 a.m. — Firefighters responded to the 300 block of North 18th Street for a fire that ignited on the back porch of a residence. The home occupants extinguished the fire prior to the fire department’s arrival. See separate story.

• No calls of public significance reported.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to a call at 1:30 a.m. (Applegate Street).
MONDAY, MAY 6
• 1:56 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a report of a vehicle off Kings Valley Highway about 1-1/2 miles north of Maxfield Creek Road that had gone down a steep embankment and came to rest on its side. The driver was not located upon arrival but was later found by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center receiving care for minor injuries.

TUESDAY, MAY 7
• 2:51 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a report of a two-vehicle crash in the parking lot at McDonald’s involving an Amazon delivery van and a pickup truck. Minor injuries to the pickup truck’s driver were reported with no transport to a hospital. Philomath Fire and Rescue responded with a single engine crew of four and two chief officers. WEDNESDAY, MAY 8
• 9:28 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a natural gas leak in a construction zone near South 13th Street and Applegate Street. Crews broke a two-inch natural gas service line and firefighters evacuated nearby residents and remained on standby until repaired. See separate story.
