FRIDAY, MAY 29

• 2:41 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a tree fire on Woods Creek Road and responded with five personnel in a heavy brush engine, a light brush engine and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found a tree down across a power line with no fire related to the incident. The power company was requested to the scene.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 2:13 p.m. (North Ninth Street) and 7:09 p.m. (Pioneer Street).

SATURDAY, MAY 30

• No calls of public significance reported.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 3:52 a.m. (Pioneer Street), 11:12 a.m. (Highway 34) and 4:09 p.m. (Highway 34).

SUNDAY, MAY 31

• No calls of public significance reported.

MONDAY, JUNE 1

• 3:26 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to provide automatic aid to Hoskins-Kings Valley Rural Fire Protection District for a large wildland fire on Kings Valley Highway and responded with seven personnel in a heavy brush engine, a water tender and a command vehicle. Upon arrival, the fire covered approximately a half-acre of grass and blackberry bushes. Crews assisted with incident command, were assigned to mop up on the northern edge of the fire and provided water supply to the Hoskins-Kings Valley district.

Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 7:58 a.m. (Pioneer Street), 6:23 p.m. (Pioneer Street), 7:33 p.m. (Bellfountain Road and Airport Avenue) and 9:18 p.m. (South 19th Street).

TUESDAY, JUNE 2

• 11:12 a.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire in the 300 block of North 16th Street and responded with six personnel in an engine and two command vehicles. Upon arrival, crews found a small fire on the exterior of the structure. The fire involved an enclosure housing a pet tortoise named Blu and caused some damage to the siding of the home. Crews quickly extinguished the fire. Blu was found unharmed in the enclosure and was handed over to the owner. No extension of the fire was found in the nearby home.
