FRIDAY, NOV. 29

• 6:43 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a single-vehicle crash into a sign on Main Street just east of the “Y” at the start of the couplet. The vehicle, which was heading west, reportedly had front-end damage with airbags deployed. The driver reported back pain but refused medical transportation. A passenger reported no injuries. The Fire and Rescue crew spread an absorbent on fluid out of the vehicle’s radiator that had spilled on the road.

SATURDAY, NOV. 30

• 7:52 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a crash near the intersection of Fern Road and Airport Avenue. One vehicle with moderate front-end damage had gone off eastbound Airport Avenue approximately 25 yards from the intersection. The other vehicle was on the side of Fern Road just south of the intersection. One driver was checked for neck pain but did not want medical transportation. The other driver was not injured.

SUNDAY, DEC. 1

• 11:02 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a single-vehicle crash off Highway 20 near Blodgett Road. A 47-year-old Eugene woman driving a pickup that crashed through a barrier and was lodged against a tree about 40 feet down from the highway. The Fire and Rescue crew performed an extrication to free the driver, who was then transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. She was later arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol) by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. See separate story.
