FRIDAY, AUG. 8
• 6:32 a.m. — Firefighters responded to a burn complaint in the 100 block of North Seventh Street. Upon arrival, the crew found a homeowner burning prohibited materials. The fire was extinguished.
• 3:23 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a small fire at New Life Fellowship Church at 1412 Applegate Street. Upon arrival, crews found a 10-by-10-foot grass fire with two individuals attempting to put it out. One crew attacked the fire through a parking lot on the south side of the church. Upon noticing that the fence was involved, another crew was redeployed to 15th Street to gain access from the east side. An investigation determined that the fire had ignited from the mowing of dry grass.

• 1:40 p.m. — Firefighters responded to the activation of a fire alarm in the 100 block of Neabeack Hill Drive.

THURSDAY, AUG. 14
• 5:39 a.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a crash with possible injuries in the 800 block of North 19th Street. Upon arrival, crews found a Honda Element with minimal damage following an incident that appeared to be the vehicle running into a ditch and then back onto the road. The driver self-extricated and was assessed for injuries. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reported the driver as a 69-year-old Albany woman who had swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
• 7:59 a.m. — Firefighters responded to the activation of a fire alarm in the 200 block of North 14th Street.

FRIDAY, AUG. 15
• 1:15 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched to the area of Greenberry Road and Bellfountain Road to investigate a report of smoke. Fire and Rescue crews staged at Station 203 (Inavale station on Llewellyn Road) after U.S. Fish and Wildlife were reportedly in the area. It was determined that the smoke that had been reported was most likely dust from a farm operation off Decker Road near Bellfountain.

SATURDAY, AUG. 16
• 10:25 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a report of a car fire in the parking lot at McDonald’s. Upon arrival, crews found a Dodge pickup in the drive-thru lane that was not on fire but disabled. With the help of Philomath Police, the pickup was pushed into a parking spot.
Other calls: Emergency medical services responded to calls at 11:21 a.m. (South 16th Street), 11:55 a.m. (Rosecrest Drive) and 7:38 p.m. (Blakesley Creek Road).
SUNDAY, AUG. 17

MONDAY, AUG. 18
• 2:11 p.m. — Firefighters responded through mutual aid to a report of a wildfire near Seeley Creek on Highway 34. An unoccupied barn was destroyed but firefighters were able to protect two homes and a large shop. See separate story for details.
• 5:36 p.m. — Firefighters responded to a wildland fire near Cutler Lane on Airport Road. Upon arrival, crews discovered the fire covered 7 to 8 acres and an all-county response was issued. A home that was threatened by the blaze was not damaged. See separate story for details.

TUESDAY, AUG. 19
• 11:55 a.m. — Firefighters responded to the activation of a fire alarm in the 400 block of South 19th Street.
• 4:36 p.m. — Emergency medical services responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 24000 block of Gellatly Way. One individual was transported to a hospital after falling from a moving vehicle.
