A 57-year-old Blodgett woman was arrested late Friday in the shooting of a 62-year-old man, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Tina Gonzales-Ross faces charges that include attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, BCSO said. She was taken into custody at 10 p.m. Friday and lodged at Benton County Jail.
Gonzales-Ross and the victim share the same residence in the 21000 block of Porter Road in Blodgett. The man was hospitalized and underwent surgery to treat his wounds, BCSO said.
BCSO said Thursday that both the man and woman had been transported to the hospital with gunshot injuries. Deputies had been dispatched to the Porter Road residence at 5:15 a.m. Thursday. Gonzales-Ross was later found in her vehicle on Clem Road in Lincoln County.
Philomath Fire & Rescue sent medical personnel to the Porter Road residence at 5:19 a.m. and to the Clem Road location at 9:24 a.m.
Gonzales-Ross was arrested in October 2021 on charges that included driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol content of .28), reckless driving, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, failure to perform the duties of a driver and criminal mischief following a hit-and-run incident in Corvallis.
BCSO cited and released her on Dec. 17 on a warrant related to those charges and ordered her to appear in court on Jan. 18.
The investigation remains open and the sheriff’s office encourages anyone with information to call the agency’s tip line at 541-753-8477 or email BentonCoSheriff@co.benton.or.us.
BCSO thanked the Corvallis Police Department, Albany Police Department, Philomath Police Department and the Benton County District Attorney’s Office for assisting with the investigation.
