The Philomath Planning Commission plans to meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Philomath City Hall with an agenda that includes work on updating Climate Friendly Area Project code language.

In 2022, the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development established new rules related to land use and transportation planning in line with an executive order from then-Gov. Kate Brown to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change.

The city has until Dec. 31 to adopt Climate Friendly Area land-use standards and related map changes.

Also on the agenda, the commission will listen to staff updates and make plans for its Sept. 16 meeting.

For those not attending in person at City Hall, the meeting is scheduled to be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
