A conditional use permit application submitted by Republic Services to expand the Coffin Butte Landfill north of Corvallis was “deemed incomplete” by the planning division of Benton County Community Development, officials announced Friday.
“The county has notified Republic Services of the necessary additional information and will continue to engage in an active dialogue to address the deficiencies,” officials said through a news release. “
Republic Services now has a maximum of 180 days to provide requested details to complete its application.
“The county anticipates that the revised submission will include more detailed technical reports and a broader spatial analysis to assess the existing conditions and potential impacts of landfill operations,” officials said.
Benton County reported that it has enlisted an outside consultant to assist in the technical analysis to ensure that “all aspects of the application are thoroughly reviewed.”
