The city of Philomath needs to fill openings on the Planning Commission and Budget Committee and is currently accepting applications.

The Planning Commission has one vacant seat remaining after the City Council last month added local resident Kyle Cupp. In all, seven volunteers sit on the commission, which makes decisions related to zoning, land use and development. The group typically meets on the third Monday each month. The vacant position is for a four-year term.

Two vacancies remain on the Budget Committee — one position has one year remaining on a term and the other has two years remaining. City councilors and the mayor are also on the committee, which meets several times in the spring and receives budget updates throughout the year. The committee will review the proposed 2025-26 fiscal year budget and make adjustments.

For those with an interest, the city has online forms available on its website. Questions can be directed to the city recorder at 541-929-6148 (option 5) or crystal.weber@philomathoregon.gov.
