The Philomath City Council and Urban Renewal Agency will hold back-to-back meetings Monday evening with both bodies expected to adopt budgets for the upcoming fiscal year alongside several other items.
The Urban Renewal Agency convenes first at 7 p.m. at Philomath City Hall with a single public hearing item — adoption of the URA’s 2026-27 fiscal year budget totaling $3.58 million in total requirements with appropriations of $664,669 covering administration and debt service.
The City Council session follows at 7:15 p.m. and opens with a series of public hearings on the city’s own budget matters. The council will consider adopting the city’s 2026-27 fiscal year budget totaling $34.76 million in total requirements, setting the property tax rate at $5.3005 per $1,000 of assessed value, declaring the city’s election to receive state shared revenues and approving a supplemental budget adjustment for the current fiscal year.
Under new business, the council will consider authorizing the city manager to sign an amendment to the city’s lease agreement with Philomath Frolic and Rodeo. The amendment addresses ownership and maintenance responsibilities for recently constructed facilities at the rodeo grounds, including grandstands, restrooms and arena lighting.
Rounding out the agenda are the second reading of an ordinance for an alley vacation, ratification of a collective bargaining agreement with the public employees union and adoption of pay schedules for nonrepresented and management positions for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Both meetings will be live-streamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
