MONDAY, MAY 20
• 11:39 p.m. — Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence in Philomath and determined that no crimes had been committed other than possible harassment but victims were uncooperative.
MONDAY, MAY 27
• 7:29 p.m. — Deputies arrested Makayla Ray Craig, 26, of Toledo, on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle during a traffic stop on Main Street near Clemens Mill Road. The vehicle, a 2016 Jeep Renegade, had been reported stolen out of Toledo. Also arrested was a 46-year-old Albany man on a warrant.
TUESDAY, MAY 28
• 9:24 a.m. — Deputies transported a stray German shepherd from the 24000 block of Old Peak Road to Heartland Humane Society. The dog was not wearing a collar but he was microchipped.
• 11:17 a.m. — Deputies responded to a report of a student at Kings Valley Charter School who had consumed alcohol and appeared to be intoxicated. The student was cited for minor in possession and released to parents.
• 3:52 p.m. — Deputies pulled over a Ford F-450 pumping fluid onto the roadway in traffic near Main Street and South 11th Street and during the stop was informed by dispatch that the truck had been reported as stolen out of Marion County. The registered owner of the vehicle, Corpac Construction, confirmed that it had self-recovered the vehicle after it was reported stolen and failed to notify law enforcement. The vehicle was released at the scene to Corpac personnel and the stolen flag on the vehicle was removed.
• 5:03 p.m. — Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 34 near the Old Peak Road intersection. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and the drivers, an 81-year-old Alsea man and a 77-year-old Philomath man, reported no injuries. An investigation determined that one of the vehicles pulled onto Highway 34 from Grange Hall Road, which caused the other vehicle to crash into him. See separate story.
