Philomath Open Studios, the free self-guided art tour and sale that takes place each year over the last two weekends in October, announced that it will offer two “pre-show events” for the public to view work by this year’s participating artists.
A show at Philomath Community Library debuts Thursday and will remain in place through Oct. 31. And a show at Philomath Museum will run from Oct. 19-Jan. 11.
The regular tour this year will feature 30-plus artists in 13 locations, including 10 home studios, the Lumos Wine tasting room, Philomath Scout Lodge and Philomath High’s art room.
Organizers pointed out that 12 of the artists, plus the crew at PHS, will be on the tour for the first time.
Art mediums featured include collage, beadwork, printmaking, painting, metal work, sculpture, and glasswork.
