Philomath Fire and Rescue will host a free community event titled “Help Us, Help You” on Thursday to offer residents a chance to tour the facility, meet firefighters and learn about an upcoming operational levy on the May 19 ballot.

The event begins at 7 p.m. at Station 201 at 1035 Main St.

Attendees will be able to tour the station and get a close-up look at the department’s fire trucks and equipment. Officials say the open house is designed for all ages and will provide a behind-the-scenes view of fire operations.

A central focus of the evening will be a discussion of the operational levy that voters will consider on the May 19 ballot. Fire personnel plan to explain how the levy supports day-to-day operations and answer questions from residents about its potential impact on the department and the community.

With wildfire season approaching, the department will also share information on home and property preparedness. Firefighters will be on hand to answer questions about fire safety, prevention and related topics.
