U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) will make a stop Aug. 8 in Philomath as part of his annual town hall tour around the state.
The public is invited to attend the event, which is scheduled at 4 p.m. in the Philomath High School auditorium. The doors open at 3 p.m. and for security purposes, backpacks and large bags will not be allowed.
“Hearing directly from Oregonians helps me represent every nook and cranny of our state,” Wyden said through a news release. “In the nearly 1,100 town halls I’ve held to date, I’ve gotten direct and productive feedback with ideas, questions and concerns that shape solutions we can work on together to make all of Oregon an even better place to live and work.”
The Philomath appearance represents Wyden’s Benton County stop this year. Next week, he will also make stops in Washington County (Aug. 6 at Forest Grove), Marion County (Aug. 7 at Silverton) and Lane County (Aug. 9 at Florence).
Heading into these four town halls, Wyden will have held 1,093 town halls throughout Oregon, including 28 so far this year, as part of a commitment to hold at least one town hall each year in each of Oregon’s 36 counties.
