The Philomath High School girls basketball team wrapped up its first run through the Oregon West Conference Thursday with a 52-15 victory at Newport.

Freshman Reagan Nuño came off the bench to score 11 points — nine of those in the second quarter as the Warriors built a 37-9 halftime lead. Sophomore Reagan Heiken scored all 10 of her points in the first quarter and senior Zoee Howard scored eight of her 10 in the first half.

In all, eight of the 13 players that saw court time against the Cubs scored points.

The Warriors (15-3 overall, 4-1 Oregon West) will play at home Tuesday vs. Sweet Home. The tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Philomath defeated the Huskies, 55-11, in the first meeting between the two schools on Jan. 21.

Then on Wednesday, the team will travel to Amity for a nonconference game scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Amity is currently ranked No. 1 in Class 3A with a 20-0 record.
