The Philomath High School girls tennis team swept the singles matches and split in doubles for a 6-2 victory Wednesday afternoon at Lebanon.
Junior Bailey Bell did not allow a point for the second straight dual with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over her opponent at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Adele Beckstead won in impressive fashion as well with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 2 slot.
Junior Megan Reese defeated her opponent at No. 3 singles in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Junior Elise Reese in the No. 4 singles position won the most thrilling match of the day, 6-0, 2-6, 7-5.
Philomath won at both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Senior Phoebe Dodson and junior Daniella Carlisle were 6-2, 6-1 winners. Junior Lorelei Schell and junior Nadia Durski rolled over their opponents, 6-0, 6-1.
Lebanon salvaged the No. 3 and No. 4 doubles matches although Philomath pushed in both with senior Mia Cook and freshman Lucie Oster in one and sophomore Lillian Hansen and freshman Logan Cook in the other.
Philomath (1-1) is scheduled to make its home debut on Friday with a visit from Silverton, another 5A school. The action is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
