The No. 1-ranked Philomath High School girls basketball team jumped out to a 31-13 lead in the first half and coasted to a 49-31 victory on Tuesday at Sweet Home.
The triple scoring threat of senior Sage Kramer, senior Reagan Larson and junior Abigail Brown produced against the Huskies by scoring just under 75% of the team’s points. Kramer finished with 16 on seven field goals and 2 of 2 on free throws. Kramer scored 12 of her 16 in the first half.
Larson hit double digits as well with 11 points on four field goals and 1 of 2 on free throws, a stat line that included a pair of 3-pointers. Both of those baskets from beyond the arc occurred in the second quarter. Brown scored nine points on four field goals and 1 of 2 on free throws. Seven of her nine came in the second half.
“Abigail had another strong game,” PHS coach Ben Silva said. “Reagan shot the ball well. Sage had some great finishes.”
Junior Brooke Burke scored 15 points and senior Adaira Sleutel added 13 for the Huskies (4-9 overall, 0-2 Oregon West).
The Warriors (8-2 overall, 2-0 Oregon West) will head to Woodburn on Friday.
