The Philomath High School boys tennis team took care of business on a road trip to the coast Thursday with victories of 8-0 over North Bend and 6-2 over Marshfield.
In the match against North Bend, Dawson Beckstead won at No. 1 singles by a 6-1, 6-1 margin. Jackson Rice played in the No. 2 slot and defeated his opponent, 6-0, 6-2. Sawyer Ainsworth played singles at No. 3 and was a 6-1, 6-0 winner.
In doubles matches, PHS winners were Lane Schell and Gradin Fairbanks (6-0, 6-1) and Osvaldo Garcia-Bazan and Jackson Holroyd (6-0, 6-2). The Warriors won three matches by default.
In the victory over Marshfield, Andrew Leonard moved into the No. 1 singles spot and defeated his opponent, 6-3, 6-0. Rice was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at No. 2 singles and Owen Thomas took down his opponent at No. 4 by a 6-3, 6-1 count.
Philomath’s No. 1 doubles team Teddy Benbow and Ainsworth won by a 6-1, 6-0 margin. The Warriors won two doubles matches by default.
