Enjoy the Fourth of July with a full slate of activities in neighboring Corvallis, including a parade, riverfront festival, swimming pool fun and late night fireworks. In Philomath, the fourth annual Dirt Road Brewing Street Party highlights Saturday’s events.
Here’s a rundown of Philomath and selected Corvallis events and activities for the weekend — which begins a day earlier than usual with the Fourth of July falling on Thursday. Remember that the area will be under an excessive heat warning, so take that into consideration when outdoors (and some of these events could even be canceled because of the hot temps).
Thursday, July 4
The All-American, Everyone-Can-Join, Fabulous, Fantastic Fourth of July Parade in Corvallis could be a good way to start the holiday. Participants will assemble on Eighth Street between Jefferson Avenue and Monroe Avenue at 9:30 a.m. The Diva will sing the National Anthem at 10 a.m. and then the parade takes off. The route goes east on Monroe Avenue, turns right on First Street, turns right onto Washington Avenue and then goes left onto Second Street until it ends at Eric Scott McKinley Skate Park.

Following the parade, the Red, White and Blue Riverfront Festival will get started at 11 a.m. and run until 10 p.m. at Riverfront Commemorative Park in downtown Corvallis. The festival will feature live music, food vendors, inflatables, craft booths, beer garden and more. The music lineup includes Jeanne Gregg (noon), Terry Robb and Adam Scramstad (2 p.m.), the Creighton Lindsay Band (4 p.m.), Enjoy the Ride (6 p.m.) and Ty Curtis (8 p.m.). S&K Wacky Indoor Bounce — a business owned by Philomath residents — will be on site.

If you need to cool off, Osborn Aquatic Center in Corvallis will offer its Red, White and Splash Swim from 1-4 p.m. at Otter Beach. In addition to swimming, the event will feature music, yard games and free ice cream. Regular admission rates apply ($3 to $6). Osborn Aquatic Center is located at 1940 NW Highland Drive.

The Corvallis Jaycees fireworks display will end the evening along the Corvallis downtown’s riverfront with the start time scheduled for 10 p.m. Admission is free.
Friday, July 5
Get in some Philomath Museum time on Friday between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Current exhibits include “What Is it?” on the ground floor and “Bringing the World Together: Paintings and Prints by Betty LaDuke” in the upstairs gallery. “What Is It?” is an exhibition with objects that were used locally in the past and would have been familiar to most people living then. It’s an opportunity to enjoy your encounters with the past. The LaDuke exhibition focuses on social justice from multiple perspectives with colorful, elaborate totems and turtles carrying messages of resilience. The retrospective art exhibition includes paintings, prints and panels created between 1972 and 2023. The museum will also be open Saturday from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Saturday, July 6
The fourth annual Dirt Road Brewing Street Party will run from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. on 13th Street just north of Main Street. Live music and dancing, food and drink and children’s activities are all part of the celebration. The concert lineup includes Chicken Scratches (noon-12:30 p.m.), Rural Folk Fiasco (1-2 p.m.), Matt Scruggs Acoustic (2:30-3:15 p.m.), Cool Jones Band (3:30-5 p.m.), DRTR (5:30-7 p.m.) and the Rhythm Benders (7:30-10 p.m.). Food by Dirt Road Brewing, Nick’s: Soul Food and El Cruzero. Kids events include Philomath Fire and Rescue’s ladder truck, a bouncy house and face-painting.

The Harris Bridge Vineyard in rural Benton County west of Philomath will host a concert featuring Erin Cole-Baker. A potluck will kick off the fun at 5 p.m. with the music beginning at 7 p.m. The Harris Bridge Vineyard is located at 22937 Harris Road (go west out of Philomath on Highway 20, take a right on Kings Valley Highway, take a right on Ritner Road, take a right on Wren Road and take a right on Harris Road, following it for about 2-1/2 miles to the winery).

Lumos Wine was scheduled to host musical events on Saturday (Cheatgrass Bluegrass Band) and Sunday (Creighton Lindsay Quartet) but both were canceled because of the weather forecast of extreme heat.
Sunday, July 7
The Philomath Farmers’ Market enters Week 7 in front of Philomath Community Library. The event goes from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. with a vendor list that includes produce, other food items, crafts, services and information. The POP Club for kids is also available. The market accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program cards and Double Up Food Bucks, which match SNAP purchases up to $20 each week for fresh produce and food products.

Airlie Winery is hosting its Sounds of Summer Sundays series and scheduled to perform from 5-7:30 p.m. is Wild Hog in the Woods, a group that features stringband music. Tickets are $10. Airlie is located at 15305 Dunn Forest Road just outside Kings Valley. Head west out of Philomath on Highway 20, take a right on Kings Valley Highway and continue for about 8 miles until taking a right onto Maxfield Creek Road; then go another 5 miles until turning right onto Dunn Forest Road.
