The final Sunday evening performance in the Music in the Park summer concert series occurs this weekend with a 6 p.m. performance by The Nettles at Philomath City Park.
The free concerts are staged in the Randy Kugler Community Hall and gazebo area. Those attending are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Mud Oven Pizza will be on site for concessions.
The Nettles play improvisational music based on traditional tunes with a blend of traditional Irish and American music.
According to the group’s website: “Playing hard, they’re a Celtic jam band that makes audiences move and groove. Playing soft, they’re a lyrical folk jazz group.”
Based out of Corvallis, the band features Laura Brophy (fiddle), Kevin Nettle (guitar) and Michael Proctor (bass).
Music in the Park will have one more event before the 2025 run ends with a Wednesday, Sept. 10 concert featuring Blood on the Plow.
