Local runners have an opportunity coming up with the Crystal Creek Run returning for its second year on Saturday, Sept. 20 in Eddyville. The race offers a 5-kilometer run/walk, 10K run/walk and half-marathon
Organized by the Eddyville Booster Club, the event doubles as a fundraiser for Eddyville Charter School. This year’s proceeds will specifically support upgrades to the school’s track and field facilities.
The race route showcases the natural beauty of the area, winding through the picturesque Crystal Creek Loop along old Highway 20. Participants will enjoy forest views while passing several pieces of local history, including the Chitwood Covered Bridge for half-marathon runners.
Registration is available online, where potential participants can find complete information about entry fees and race details. Winners will take home unique custom wooden medals, and the celebration continues after the race with food and music.
