School district still looking for Budget Committee volunteer

The Philomath School District is seeking a community volunteer to fill one seat that remains vacant on its Budget Committee. The deadline to apply with the completion of a candidate information sheet is noon on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

The position carries a term of three years. The district typically schedules a Budget Committee work session in the fall and then another the following February. The actual committee meetings — usually one or two — occur in early May to late June, if necessary, and usually run no longer than two hours.

The School Board anticipates reviewing, interviewing and appointing the Budget Committee member at its Dec. 12 regular meeting.

The Budget Committee is made up of the five School Board members and currently includes four community members — Shelly Brown, Carol Leach, Kimberly Lopez and Craig McDaniel.
