The Philomath School District needs to fill a vacant position on the School Board and invites residents to submit an application to be considered for the seat.
The council accepted the resignation of Anton Grube during its July 13 meeting. The person appointed to the position would serve out the remainder of Grube’s term, which expires on June 30, 2023.
To be eligible for the position, applicants must have lived in the school district at least 12 months prior to the appointment, not be an officer or employee of the district and be a registered voter of the school district.
The deadline to submit applications is 2 p.m. on Aug. 5.
The School Board will interview applicants and make a decision on the appointment during an Aug. 9 special session.
