The Philomath School Board plans to discuss goals, the local option levy, integrated guidance and a student representative on the board at its meeting on Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 at the school district’s office building at 1620 Applegate St. For those who want to attend, enter the building through a door situated at the back of the building.

The board goals, which were a topic of conversation at the group’s retreat on Sept. 8, revolve around three bullet points — steward, support and communicate. The local option levy is on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.

Integrated guidance refers to an Oregon Department of Education initiative that brings together six aligned programs designed to improve outcomes and learning conditions for students and educators. The board previously voted to add a student representative to the board and a selection process was to take place.

Other items on the agenda include discussion of the 2021-22 State Report Cards, a look at the district’s report on compliance with public school standards, appointing a citizen to the Budget Committee and other routine reports and actions.
