The Philomath School Board plans to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday for an agenda that includes a vote on the approval of a collective bargaining agreement with the teachers’ union.

Among the discussion items listed on the Sept. 11 meeting agenda is a review of Clemens Community Pool, the school district’s aging facility that has seen a number of operational challenges over the years. Work session planning and the upcoming Oregon School Boards Association election will also be discussed.

In addition to the agreement with licensed teachers, approving a student representative to the board is among the action items. Student representatives do not have voting privileges or participate in executive sessions.

Time is set aside to hear reports from the school superintendent, business manager, student government and the education associations. A presentation — either about talented and gifted education or the latest in a safety series — will also be given.

Prior to the regular meeting, there will be an executive session to begin at 6 p.m. as allowed by state statute. Executive sessions are closed to the public.

The Community Conference Room is located to the right inside the high school’s front entrance. Meetings are also streamed on the school district’s YouTube channel.
