The Philomath School Board plans to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the school district office for its regular monthly meeting with an agenda that includes discussion and action on safety and security 

The board is scheduled to vote on a $97,233 security upgrade for an electronic door lock system across all buildings in the district. Board members will also receive an update on action that has been taken since a Sept. 17 work session on safety.

Also on the agenda for the Oct. 10 meeting, the board will again take up the topic of a student representative and vote on the approval of superintendent’s goals along with various other items.

A representative from the Linn Benton Lincoln Education Service District is scheduled to speak. Reports from associations, superintendent and business manager will also be shared.

The board is scheduled to begin the evening at 6:30 p.m. in executive session as allowed by law for a personnel-related review or evaluation.

The Philomath School District office is located at 1620 Applegate St., with access to the meeting through a door at the back of the building. Meetings are also streamed on the school district’s YouTube channel.
