The Philomath Rotary Club invites the community to its Tuesday, Sept. 17 meeting for a program on the College of Philomath building project.
Scott Ramsey, College of Philomath Community Corporation president, will provide an overview of the project’s status. Plans have included continued efforts to bring the building back to its original appearance, rebuilding a front staircase, adding modern necessities including the possibility of an elevator and commercial kitchen, as well as a seismic retrofit.
The building was constructed in 1909 by the College of Philomath, the rival religious-based educational institution to the long-established Philomath College.
The meeting begins at noon at Peace Lutheran Church. Lunch will be provided (for meal-planning purposes, organizers ask attendees to RSVP via email to rotaryfred@hotmail.com).
