The Philomath School Board plans to meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, at the school district office for its regular monthly meeting.
The meeting agenda includes an update on the district’s back-to-school plans, discussion on equity goals, an update on summer school and consideration of easement requests from the city.
In addition, the board is expected to take action on a recommendation to enter into a co-op agreement with Alsea High for softball, wrestling and baseball, talk about highlights that came out of the board’s retreat earlier in the month and discuss the Oregon School Boards Association annual fall conference.
Routine business also appears on the agenda with reports from the superintendent, director of finance, board members and others. The public has an opportunity to provide comments near the beginning of the meeting.
The district office is located at 1620 Applegate St., with access to the board room through a door on the back of the building. The public is invited to attend. A live feed of the meeting will be available on the School Board’s YouTube channel.
The board plans to begin the evening at 5:30 p.m. by adjourning into executive session to discuss labor negotiations, review and evaluate employee performances and to consider matters relating to school safety. Executive sessions are closed to the public.
