Solo guitarist David Rogers is scheduled to perform in concert from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Cardwell Hill Cellars. Admission for the event is $10.

Rogers presents a classical crossover guitar program consisting of Spanish music, up-tempo Latin, arrangements of pop music and jazz, J.S. Bach and original compositions.

Termed “a prominent guitarist” by the New York Times, and praised by The Washington Post for his “astonishingly florid” improvisations, Rogers fuses classical, jazz and world music into his performances.

An endorsing artist for Aquila Strings, Italy, his music has been featured in major guitar magazines such as Fingerstyle Guitar in the United States and Akustic Gitarre in Germany. His performances have been broadcast on American National Public Radio and Bayrische Rundfunk.

Rogers was a musician with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for 18 years and taught at Southern Oregon University for 13 years.

Cardwell Hill Cellars is located in the Wren vicinity at 24241 Cardwell Hill Drive. Take Highway 20 west out of Philomath and turn right onto Kings Valley Highway and then right on Cardwell Hill Drive.
