An 81-year-old Portland man died Wednesday evening from injuries he suffered in a crash at the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 226 between Lebanon and Albany, Oregon State Police reported. A Philomath man involved in the crash was not injured.
Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a report of a crash at the intersection at 6:37 p.m., OSP said through a press release. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda motorcycle, operated by Martin Pratt Jr., 81, of Portland, was entering Highway 20 from Highway 226 and struck the side of a Dodge pickup operated by Mark Lehnert, 59, of Philomath.
Pratt and his passenger, Carol Pratt, 68, of Portland, were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis where Martin Pratt Jr. was pronounced deceased. Lehnert was not injured.
OSP was assisted by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Albany Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
