DAILY REPORTS

FRIDAY, MARCH 1

• 6:05 a.m. — Police arrested a 57-year-old Philomath man on a warrant for contempt of court at a Kings Valley Highway location.

• 2:59 p.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 1800 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 6:37 a.m. (North 19th Street and College Street), found property at 7:29 a.m. (Eighth Street and Pioneer Street) and a suicidal subject at 12:49 p.m. (Philomath). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 8:55 p.m. (West Hills Road and Southwest Reservoir Road). PPD reported four traffic stops.

SATURDAY, MARCH 2

• 11:19 a.m. — Police arrested David Roland Dover, 48, of Corvallis, on felony charges of first-degree burglary, unlawful use of a weapon and first-degree criminal mischief, and a misdemeanor charge of menacing following an incident at a residence in the 500 block of North 12th Street. Dover allegedly forced his way into the home of family members using a pickax to destroy a front door, framing, trim, interior doors, a bathroom vanity sink, a window and a gate. The incident also involved a physical altercation. Bail was set at $40,000 and a hearing on the case was scheduled for March 11.

Other calls: Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 9:02 a.m. (Fern Road and Chapel Drive) PPD reported seven traffic stops.

SUNDAY, MARCH 3

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 12:01 a.m. (Adams Street), dog complaint at 12:16 p.m. (Pioneer Street and North 10th Street), non-911 issue at 1:49 p.m. (North 11th Street) and an animal complaint at 2:51 p.m. (McCall Way). PPD reported six traffic stops.

MONDAY, MARCH 4

• 9:43 p.m. —Police arrested a 39-year-old Philomath man on warrants in the 24700 block of Highway 20/34.

Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious circumstance at 11:30 a.m. (Applegate Street) and a vicious dog at 6:04 p.m. (College Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 6:35 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

TUESDAY, MARCH 5

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a traffic hazard at 7:04 a.m. (Main Street and North 19th Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 12:54 p.m. (Houser Lane) and a dog at large at 1:32 p.m. (North 19th Street). PPD reported six traffic stops.

THURSDAY, MARCH 7

• 7:58 a.m. — Police responded to a possible crash at South 13th Street and Applegate Street. No injuries were reported.

• 10:22 a.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 200 block of North 10th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a traffic hazard at 7:42 a.m. (South 13th Street and Applegate Street), welfare check at 9:01 a.m. (North 12th Street), barking dog at 8:03 p.m. (North 12th Street) and an animal complaint at 9:09 p.m. (South 13th Street).

FATAL CRASHES

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6

• 5:16 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 140 about 6 miles east of White City that took the life of Trinity H. Sanchez, 24, of Klamath Falls. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a semi-truck driven by a 74-year-old Eagle Point man was attempting to make a left turn onto Brownsboro Road when a Jeep Compass, driven by Sanchez, crossed over a double yellow line in a no-passing zone and attempted to pass the truck. The Jeep struck the rear of the semi. Sanchez was declared deceased at the scene. The truck’s operator was reportedly not injured.
