DAILY REPORTS

FRIDAY, MAY 10

• 11:55 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a sex-related offense. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 3:13 p.m. — Police responded to Marys River Park and Natural Area for a report of a woman and a dog in the Marys River. Both made it to the opposite bank where they were rescued. See separate story.

• 10:28 p.m. — Police arrested a 58-year-old Corvallis man on a warrant for contempt of court during a traffic stop in the 5200 block of Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis.

Other calls: Police responses included a lost dog at 11:53 a.m. (no address), abandoned vehicle at 2:14 p.m. (Maple Street) and a repossessed vehicle at 5:40 p.m. (North Eighth Street). In addition, police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on a call at 10:47 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported eight traffic stops.

SATURDAY,  MAY 11

• 11:03 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a head-on collision on Highway 20 between Blodgett and Burnt Woods. See separate story.

• 2:05 p.m. — Police responded to a report of the theft of $400 in cash taken from a room in an apartment on North 16th Lane.

• 3:53 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a loaded handgun that had been found in the middle of Llewellyn Road near Oakview Drive. The person who found it turned the gun in to the police department where it was placed in the evidence room for safe keeping.

Other calls: Police responses included a 911 hang-up call at 1:32 p.m. (North 15th Street), found dog at 7:24 p.m. (Main Street) and a park ordinance violation at 9:27 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported 19 traffic stops.

SUNDAY,  MAY 12

• 1:35 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a physical disturbance at a South 17th Street location and upon arrival, found two men yelling at each other. A 26-year-old Philomath man was placed in custody on a mental hold and transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.

• 10:11 p.m. — Philomath Police assisted at the scene of an arrest of Landon Paul Ecklund, 38, of Salem, in the 300 block of Benton View Drive. Corvallis Police reported that officers attempted to stop a 1999 Audi A4 for reckless driving in the area of Southwest Fourth Street and Southwest C Avenue in Corvallis. The vehicle fled the scene and drove west on Southwest Philomath Boulevard, then onto side streets in residential neighborhoods around Southwest 49th Street and Southwest Country Club Drive. Officers lost contact with the vehicle and the pursuit was terminated with the Audi last seen heading toward Philomath at a high rate of speed. Acting on a 911 tip, Corvallis and Philomath police officers and Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 300 block of 34th Place in Philomath and located the Audi parked and unoccupied. Utilizing Corvallis Police and BCSO drone and K9 teams, the driver was found hiding in the backyard of a nearby residence. Ecklund faces felony and misdemeanor charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and misdemeanor charges of reckless driving, two counts of recklessly endangering another person and two counts of second-degree criminal mischief. A hearing is scheduled for June 5 in Benton County Circuit Court.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 1:05 a.m. (Main Street and North Ninth Street). PPD reported 12 traffic stops.

MONDAY,  MAY 13

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog complaint at 3:38 p.m. (North 14th Street), civil dispute report at 3:56 p.m. (North 16th Lane) and a city ordinance violation at 4:18 p.m. (Cedar Street). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

TUESDAY,  MAY 14

• 3:39 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a prowler in the 3000 block of Main Street. No report was filed.

• 4:16 p.m. — Police arrested a 34-year-old Philomath man on a fugitive from justice warrant at a location near North 12th Street and Pioneer Street.

• 8:11 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run incident at the 200 block of North 13th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included suspicious circumstances at 12:07 p.m. (Applegate Street), suspicious vehicle at 6:52 p.m. (Applegate Street) and suspicious circumstances at 9:07 p.m. (James Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY,  MAY 15

• 10:17 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance in the 300 block of South 11th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 2:45 p.m. (Bobwhite Place), citizen assistance at 2:46 p.m. (Applegate Street), juvenile complaint at 4:48 p.m. (South 11th Street) and a fraud report at 4:52 p.m. (South 19th Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.

THURSDAY,  MAY 16

• 2:26 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting in the 1700 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a civil dispute at 11:02 a.m. (North 19th Street) and an abandoned vehicle at 5:15 p.m. (Bobwhite Place). PPD reported four traffic stops.

SUNDAY, MAY 5

• 5 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a robbery at North 14th Street and Main Street. A female victim reported that at around 3:30 p.m., she was pushed to the ground in the alley between her residence and a laundry business with unknown suspects stealing her cellphone and $45 from her wallet.
