FRIDAY, FEB. 9

• 11:24 a.m. — Police responded to a report of fraud in the 3100 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included an extra patrol at 3:45 a.m. (Main Street), suspicious vehicle at 4:09 a.m. (Applegate Street), abandoned vehicle at 12:57 p.m. (North 11th Street), and a suspicious circumstance at 10:53 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported nine traffic stops.

SATURDAY, FEB. 10

• 2:45 p.m. — Police reported an eluding call in the 1400 block of Main Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a bike traffic warning at 3:50 a.m. (Northwest Harrison Boulevard and Northwest 35th Street, Corvallis) and a non-911 issue at 10:06 p.m. (Pioneer Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office at 1:29 p.m. (Highway 34). PPD reported 21 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, FEB. 11

• 2:11 p.m. — Police reported a traffic stop in the 300 block of North 11th Street but provided no further information on the circumstances other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 10:31 p.m. (South 19th Street) and citizen contact at 11:28 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported 15 traffic stops.

MONDAY, FEB. 12

• 8:06 a.m. — Police responded to a report of theft. No other details were made available, including the location, other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 2:16 p.m. — Police arrested a 43-year-old Corvallis man on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal trespass in the 1700 block of Main Street.

Other calls: Police responses included motorist assistance at 6:14 p.m. (Main Street and Newton Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 7:46 p.m. (Marys River Estates Road). PPD reported one traffic stop.

TUESDAY, FEB. 13

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included taking found property at 2:49 p.m. (Main Street), fraud at 3:30 p.m. (North 14th Street), welfare check at 4:40 p.m. (Main Street) and a dog barking at 10:07 p.m. (South 15th Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 1:06 p.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 14

• 8:47 a.m. — Police responded to a woman who reported suspicious circumstances at a location on Old Peak Road. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 6:37 p.m. — Police responded to a report of domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of College Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 2:09 p.m. (Neabeack Hill Drive). In addition, police assisted the Beaverton Police Department with a runaway juvenile at 9:19 p.m. (College Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

• 7:44 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an argumentative male who was trespassed from a business on Main Street.

SATURDAY, FEB. 10

• 2:06 p.m. — Deputies discovered an armchair that had been dumped in a ditch next to a gated forest road owned by Starker Forests near Marys Peak Road. The deputy took photos of the chair and forwarded the information to the county’s Forest Patrol division.

SUNDAY, FEB. 11

• 8:59 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 37-year-old Portland man on a warrant out of Washington County Circuit Court for failure to register as a sex offender during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 6 miles west of Philomath.

MONDAY, FEB. 12

• 7:54 a.m. — Deputies took a report from a 20-year-old Philomath man regarding a telephone harassment complaint. Deputies determined the situation to be a scam and advised the man to block the phone numbers.

TUESDAY, FEB. 13

• 10:17 a.m. — Deputies arrested a 43-year-old Albany man on a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass in the second degree in the 500 block of Main Street. The man was provided a courtesy ride to Corvallis where he was issued a citation and released.

FATAL CRASHES

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 7

• 5:50 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 about 1 mile south of Waldport that took the life of Gordon Eugene Dale, 77, of Waldport. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Dale, driving a Toyota Prius, attempted to turn left onto northbound Highway 101 into the path of a southbound Subaru Outback driven by a 46-year-old Seal Rock man. Dale was transported to a local hospital where he was declared deceased. The driver of the Subaru and two passengers — a 75-year-old man and a 49-year-old man, both of Seal Rock — reported minor injuries.

MONDAY, FEB. 12

• 2:42 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 101 about 5 miles north of Rockaway Beach that took the lives of Devin Jay Eberle, 29, of Tumwater, Washington, and Berkley Marie Erosky, 26, of Vancouver, Washington. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that Eberle, driving a Mazda Speed, was headed north on the highway when it passed multiple vehicles in a no-passing zone while entering a corner. The Mazda struck head-on a southbound Toyota Sienna driven by a 74-year-old Tacoma, Washington, woman. Eberle and Erosky, who was a passenger in the Mazda, were declared deceased at the scene. The Toyota’s driver and a passenger, a 78-year-old Tacoma man, were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
