FRIDAY, MARCH 29

• 10:23 p.m. — Police arrested a 42-year-old Corvallis man and a 42-year-old Philomath woman on misdemeanor charges of harassment with physical contact/simple assault during a response to a residence on South 19th Street.

Other calls: Police responses included a noise disturbance at 12:14 p.m. (Houser Lane). In addition, police assisted other agencies on a call at 4:28 p.m. (location not reported). PPD reported one traffic stop.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

• 10:55 a.m. — Police assisted with the arrest of Austin Gage Hickman, 24, of Albany, who was charged in Linn County with a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, second-degree disorderly conduct, furnishing alcohol to person under 21 and two counts of recklessly endangering another person.

• 3:35 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at Fern Road and Powder House Road. No injuries were reported.

• 4:05 p.m. — Police took a report of third-degree theft from a vehicle in the 200 block of Washburn Street.

• 6:32 p.m. — Police took a report of third-degree theft from a vehicle in the 600 block of West Oak Street.

Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious circumstance at 5:27 a.m. (Sunshine Avenue), dog barking at 10:51 p.m. (South 15th Street) and a bike traffic stop at 11:51 p.m. (South 19th Street and Applegate Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

SUNDAY, MARCH 31

• 11:49 a.m. — Police took a report of a hit-and-run involving an adult male who drove off from a gas station on Main Street with the pump still in his van and did not stop to exchange information.

• 2:08 p.m. — Police took a report of a hit-and-run in the 200 block of North Eighth Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 7:39 p.m. — Police took a report of theft in the 1600 block of Pioneer Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included assisting a citizen with a question at 11:46 a.m. (North 19th Street), reckless driving at 3:10 p.m. (North Seventh Street), city ordinance violations at 3:12 p.m. (Main Street), domestic disturbance at 5:04 p.m. (North 19th Street), shots heard at 7:55 p.m. (South 19th Street and Chapel Drive) and a suspicious person at 11:06 p.m. (South 18th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 5:17 a.m. (South 15th Street). PPD reported 12 traffic stops.

MONDAY, APRIL 1

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious vehicle at 3:58 a.m. (Gellatly Way), dog complaint at 10:37 a.m. (College Street), noise disturbance at 2:28 p.m. (Houser Lane) and a dog barking at 2:54 p.m. (South 30th Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 6:15 p.m. (Old Peak Road). PPD reported one traffic stop.

TUESDAY, APRIL 2

• 1:56 a.m. — Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on North 16th Street, No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 9:32 a.m. (North Eighth Street), found property at 1:49 p.m. (South 23rd Street), event detail at 2:01 p.m. (Applegate Street), mental health assistance at 2:07 p.m. (Pioneer Street), non-911 issue at 3:18 p.m. (South 14th Street and Applegate Street) and an animal complaint at 4:13 p.m. (College Street). In addition, police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on a call at 10:07 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included an abandoned vehicle at 1:02 p.m. (Cedar Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 6:17 p.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported eight traffic stops.

THURSDAY, APRIL 4

• 8:56 a.m. — Police responded to a crash in the 300 block of South 13th Street and Cedar Street. No injuries were reported.

• 1:44 p.m. — Police took a report of theft in the 100 block of South 19th Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number.

• 3:11 p.m. — Police responded to a crash in the 1400 block of Main Street. No injuries were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog barking at 12:23 a.m. (South 15th Street) and a suspicious circumstance at 1:34 a.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported six traffic stops.

FRIDAY, MARCH 29

• 3:59 p.m. — Deputies responded to a possible kidnapping situation based on a 911 call to the Toledo Police Department from a phone with the line left open. Deputies located the vehicle in Philomath and determined the situation to be a verbal argument between partners.

SATURDAY, MARCH 30

• 12:11 a.m. — Deputies arrested an 18-year-old Eddyville man on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 5 miles west of Blodgett.

• 3:28 p.m. — Deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Fern Road near Powder House Road involving a 74-year-old Gleneden Beach man. The investigation indicated that the man was driving north in a 2016 Honda CRV when he suddenly left the roadway for an unknown reason while negotiating a curve. The vehicle crossed the southbound lane and struck a steep embankment. No injuries were reported.

MONDAY, APRIL 1

• 5:40 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 33-year-old Corvallis man on a misdemeanor charge of second-degree criminal trespass on Old Peak Road after an individual on a walk noticed and reported an unknown man hiding near a neighbor’s residence. A drone and K-9 were later used to locate the man.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

• 6:15 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 33-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (blood alcohol content of .13) during a response to a single-vehicle crash on North Ninth Street near West Hills Road. 

THURSDAY, APRIL 4

• 5:38 p.m. — Deputies responded to a report that garbage had been dumped on a company’s property off Harris Road. An investigation led deputies to a 39-year-old Philomath man who went to the location and cleaned up the garbage.

FATAL CRASHES

THURSDAY, APRIL 4

• 3 a.m. — Troopers responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Interstate 5 near Canyonville in Douglas County that took the life of Sally Kaye Bidlake, 82, of Canyonville. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that the pedestrian was kneeling in the slow lane when she was struck by a northbound Toyota Sienna driven by a 45-year-old San Mateo, California, man. The driver and the vehicle’s passengers were not injured.
