FRIDAY, MARCH 8

• 9:50 p.m. — Police arrested a 30-year-old Corvallis woman on misdemeanor charges of second-degree disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The woman was cited in lieu of custody.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog barking at 6:02 a.m. (Main Street), suspicious circumstance at 8:47 a.m. (South 15th Street and Applegate Street), disorderly conduct at 9:45 a.m. (South 18th Street), person assistance at 2:09 p.m. (Pioneer Street), disorderly conduct at 3:14 p.m. (North Seventh Street and Main Street), person assistance at 8:17 p.m. (Main Street) and police officer hold at 11:27 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 9:10 p.m. (Highway 20 near Blodgett). PPD reported three traffic stops.

SATURDAY, MARCH 9

• 9:59 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at Main Street and North 13th Street. No injuries were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog barking at 12:05 a.m. (Pioneer Street and North 10th Street), non-criminal issue at 1:53 p.m. (Pioneer Street) and a mental health situation at 10:22 p.m. In addition, police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on calls at 4:08 p.m. (Southwest Country Club Drive) and 7:35 p.m. (Northwest Highland Drive). PPD reported one traffic stop.

SUNDAY, MARCH 10

• 8:55 p.m. — Police took a call about a cougar sighting in the 300 block of Adelaide Drive.

• 8:58 p.m. — Police responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of College Street. No other details were made available other than a report was taken and assigned a case number. 

Other calls: Police responses included a repossessed vehicle at 2:56 p.m. (Main Street), non-911 issue at 3:37 p.m. (College Street) and a traffic hazard at 8:52 p.m. (North 18th Street and Main Street). In addition, police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a call at 2:29 p.m. (Highway 20/34). PPD reported six traffic stops.

MONDAY, MARCH 11

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 6:52 p.m. (Main Street and North 13th Street) and a welfare check at 7:22 p.m. (South 14th Street). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

TUESDAY, MARCH 12

• 8:46 a.m. — Police responded to a crash in the 1400 block of Main Street. No injuries were reported.

• 10:49 p.m. — Police arrested a 55-year-old Salem man and a 19-year-old Philomath woman on several warrants in the 1400 block of College Street. 

Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 12:12 a.m., civil dispute at 6:04 p.m. (South 30th Street) and a welfare check at 8:53 p.m. (North 16th Street).PPD reported four traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13

• 2:19 a.m. — Police arrested a 35-year-old Madras man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .20 or above blood alcohol content) following a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Main Street.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog barking at 12:45 a.m. (South 15th Street), non-911 issue at 3:18 p.m. (North 20th Street), suspicious vehicle at 3:22 p.m. (Main Street), dog barking at 8:40 p.m. (Robb Place) and a person screaming at 9:55 p.m. (North 14th Street and College Street). PPD reported seven traffic stops.

THURSDAY, MARCH 14

• 9:26 a.m. — Police responded to a report of criminal mischief involving an unknown vehicle that had driven in the grass and flung mud on Philomath Middle School.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog barking at midnight (South 15th Street), mental health situation at 3:57 a.m., mental health situation at 11:49 a.m., welfare check at 11:57 a.m. (Grant Street) and a noise disturbance at 10:38 p.m. (South 16th Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.

FOLLOW-UP REPORTS

FRIDAY, MARCH 1

• 6:05 a.m. — Police arrested a 57-year-old Philomath man on a warrant for contempt of court at a Kings Valley Highway location.

• 2:59 p.m. — Police responded to a report of theft in the 1800 block of Main Street. A woman reported that her prescription medication, Oxycontin, had been stolen.

RECENT CALLS

TUESDAY, FEB. 27

• 5:33 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 22-year-old Gervais man on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (drugs) during a traffic stop on HIghway 20 near Porter Road. The man was cited in lieu of custody.

SUNDAY, MARCH 3

• 6 a.m. — Deputies responded to a 911 hangup call at a residence on Kings Valley Highway. The caller reported that his wallet had been stolen.

• 6:20 p.m. — Deputies responded to a crash on Ervin Road involving a vehicle that had rolled down a small embankment and into a creek. The driver, a juvenile, was evaluated by emergency medical services personnel and later transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center via Corvallis Fire ambulance. The juvenile was later cited in lieu of custody for third-degree criminal mischief for damage caused to a large metal drainage pipe.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6

• 5:26 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 55-year-old Philomath man on misdemeanor charges of driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Highway 20 near Shrike Way. The driver was cited in lieu of custody.

SATURDAY, MARCH 9

• 8:38 p.m. — Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Main Street at 13th Street. According to the investigation, a driver in a Hyundai Elantra attempting to turn west from 13th onto Main failed to yield the right-of-way to a Ford F350. No injuries were reported and neither driver was determined to be impaired.

SUNDAY, MARCH 10

• 2:21 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a crash at Highway 20 and Highway 34. It was later determined that an unknown red Mitsubishi had hit a telephone box on the northwest side of the road and later left the scene. Pioneer Telephone was contacted regarding the damage, which was estimated at $500.

TUESDAY, MARCH 12

• 8:16 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 44-year-old Albany man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop on Highway 20 about 1 mile east of Blodgett. The driver was issued a citation in lieu of custody.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 13

• 11:20 p.m. — Deputies arrested a 46-year-old Albany man on a warrant out of Lebanon during a traffic stop on Main Street. The driver was issued a citation in lieu of custody and provided a new court date.

FATAL CRASHES

MONDAY, MARCH 11

• 7:50 p.m. — Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 58 about 1 mile south of Odell Lake that took the life of Michael Edward Davis, 57, of Dallas. OSP’s preliminary investigation indicated that a semi-truck operated by a 28-year-old Liberty Lake, Washington, man was headed east on the highway when the trailer slid into the westbound lane. Davis was driving a Toyota Tacoma that struck the trailer. He was declared deceased at the scene. A passenger in the Tacoma, a 53-year-old Dallas woman, suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
