The Philomath Police Committee plans to meet virtually at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26.

The meeting agenda includes a review of the city’s Traffic Hazard Policy, an update on evidence destruction and DUII statistics.

Chief of Police Ken Rueben has been working on a Traffic Hazard Policy and a draft will be reviewed at the meeting. The policy is designed “to formalize the process for citizens, police department personnel and public officials to initiate a study and evaluation of traffic safety concerns.”

The process outlined in the policy includes the identification of traffic safety issues, the initial response by the Philomath Police Department, temporary mitigation strategies and efforts, and the possible installation of traffic calming devices or traffic control devices.

The public can watch a live feed of the meeting on the city’s Facebook page.
