The Philomath Planning Commission plans to meet at 6 p.m. Monday with an agenda that includes a public hearing on a proposed municipal code amendment to the citizen involvement chapter that revolves around application notification procedures.

Patrick Depa, associate planner, said in a staff report that the purpose of the citizen involvement chapter is “to establish standard decision-making procedures that will enable the city, the applicant and the public to reasonably review applications and participate in the local decision-making process in a timely and effective way.”

After the hearing, the commissioners will determine if the code amendments are sufficient to address their intended purpose and may move forward a recommendation to the City Council.

Also at the April 17 meeting, commissioners will also begin a preliminary discussion on commercial and industrial code language and zone uses.

For those not attending in person at City Hall, the meeting will be livestreamed on the city’s YouTube channel.
