The Philomath High School volleyball team won its second match of this short season with a four-set victory on Friday over Cascade. The win reversed Philomath’s fortunes against the Cougars on March 18 when the Warriors lost in five sets.
In Friday’s match at the PHS gym, the home team won 25-23, 26-28, 25-21 and 25-12.
Sophomore hitter Maddie Fields led Philomath in hitting with 13 kills. Junior Ashlynn Barron had five aces and two blocks, both team highs. Junior Laura Noble had 15 set assists and junior Reagan Larson had 10. On defense, junior Taylor Roe had 22 digs and junior Sage Kramer finished with 17.
Philomath goes to 2-5 on the season and will play this coming Wednesday at Class 5A South Albany.
