Philomath High School graduate Lauren Barlow earned a bachelor of arts degree last month from the University of Oregon in Eugene.
Barlow graduated magna cum laude from the UO’s School of Journalism and Communications with a major in public relations and minor in Spanish. She earned the degree at the end of the winter term with a graduation date of March 22. Students that graduate early were invited to walk in the school’s June 16 commencement ceremony and Barlow confirmed that she will be participating.
Barlow is currently in a volunteer public relations position with Volunteers in Medicine, a free medical clinic nonprofit in Springfield. She runs the organization’s social media, designs and distributes flyers and serves as a news media contact.
She hopes to find an internship but is also giving thought to continuing her education by enrolling in law school.
Barlow attended Philomath schools from K-12 and graduated with the Class of 2020.
