The Philomath High School girls tennis team swept seven of eight matches Tuesday at Dallas.
Senior Bailey Bell (6-0, 6-0), junior Adele Beckstead (6-0, 6-1), senior Megan Reese (6-2, 6-2) and senior Elise Reese (6-2, 6-4) won a combined 48 of 59 sets in singles matches against the Dragons.
In doubles, seniors Daniella Carlisle and Nadia Durski (6-1, 6-3), senior Lorelei Schell and sophomore Lucie Oster (7-5, 7-5) and sophomores Maggie King and Lucy King (6-1, 6-3) defeated their opponents. The lone loss came down to just a few points in a close match with sophomores Lacey Bacho and Logan Cook coming up short in three sets.
Philomath next heads to Coos Bay on Thursday to face Marshfield and North Bend. A revised schedule based on the weather forecast shows both matches to be played indoors at the Boys and Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon — 10 a.m. vs. Marshfield and 1 p.m. vs. North Bend.
