The Philomath Area Chamber of Commerce has new leadership in its executive director position with the resignation of Chelle Krantz and the installation of Nikki Hasley on an interim basis.
Lindsey Free, who serves as president on the chamber’s board of directors, confirmed the change earlier this week. Free said through an email that Krantz opted to “move on from her role as executive director and we’re grateful for her contributions during her time with the chamber.”
Krantz served in the job from September 2023 until earlier this month.
“I chose to resign to focus on growing a business and furthering my education to do so,” Krantz told Philomath News. “I thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Philomath community and loved my interactions with the people in it, but just felt it was time to shift gears professionally.”
Prior to Krantz, others who have served as the chamber’s executive director over the past 15 years have included Nancy Elwer (2010-14), Shelley Niemann (2014-21) and Lisa Watkins (2021-23).
Hasley works in the region as a real estate agent.
“We’re excited about the experience and energy she brings to the position,” Free said about Hasley moving into her new role with the chamber.
The Philomath chamber serves as a hub for local business support, promotion and community connection. The organization helps its members gain visibility through a public business directory, social media promotions, referrals and event participation. Monthly networking luncheons and educational programs are designed to give business owners opportunities to connect, learn and collaborate.
Annual events such as the Philomath Samaritan Awards, Sip and Stroll, Trunk‑or‑Treat and the Community Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration offer members additional opportunities for exposure and sponsorship.
Free said the chamber wishes Krantz the best on her new endeavor.
