There are over 1,000 words that share the word “ship” in them. Its context means “being part of.” We are building “ships” on the second Tuesday of each month in the Philomath Community Library’s conference room — friendships, that is!
Come meet people with similar interests or perspectives completely different from your own. It’s a way to grow and learn something new while finding new friends and sharing ideas.
So far, with help from our police chief, we have explored fraud protection, discovered how challenging it is to have a group title, brainstormed ideas for future gatherings, made AARP connections, planned book share days, and considered volunteering opportunities.
All of these topics bring us together around the idea of sharing time with one another over a cup of tea or coffee, a cookie or two, and conversation.
Keep in mind that the word “Philomath” means “love of learning.” Join us as we celebrate building friendships and embracing the love of learning. Come join our gathering on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. in the library’s conference room.
