The Philomath School Board voted to change its regular monthly meeting dates to the third Thursday to better accommodate the administrative team’s schedule and to align better with personal commitments.
Board Chair Tom Klipfel brought the idea to the table at the Jan. 8 meeting and other members had no objections with changing it from the second Thursday. Klipfel said holding the meeting later in the month will give the superintendent and business manager more time to prepare reports. He also mentioned a conflict with his own schedule.
An exception to the new regular schedule will be in March when the board will still meet on the second Thursday — this year falling on the 12th. The exception involves deadlines related to the timing of teacher contract decisions.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19.
