A vote on a communicable disease management plan, Budget Committee appointments, early literacy and social emotional learning are all topics that will go before the Philomath School Board during a meeting that begins at 7 p.m. Thursday.
The development of communicable disease management plans have been ongoing in recent weeks and ready for possible approval by the board. In addition to a districtwide plan, there are specific proposed guidelines in place for each campus.
The Budget Committee appointments involve three seats. As announced at a previous meeting, Shelly Brown had agreed to continue serving for another term, which left two openings to fill. Another committee member whose term had expired, Kimberly Lopez, last month expressed interest in coming back. An application was also received by Alexandria Baldwin to give the board three individuals to fill the three vacancies.
The agenda also includes strategy and discussion on the district’s Response to Instruction and Intervention program, which relates to early literacy supports, and the social emotional learning program.
Other routine business appears on the meeting agenda, including staff recognition and reports from associations, committees and administration.
The Philomath School District office is located at 1620 Applegate St., with access to the meeting through a door at the back of the building. Meetings are also streamed on the school district’s YouTube channel.
