Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
FRIDAY, APRIL 11
• 9:44 a.m. — Police attempted to serve a warrant in the 2500 block of Newton Street at the request of another agency. The individual no longer lived at the residence.
• 12:09 p.m. — Police responded to a report of fraud involving McDonald’s reportedly getting scammed out of $1,700 using gift cards.
• 8:49 p.m. — Police arrested a 64-year-old Portland man during a traffic stop at Main Street and Green Street on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .15 through .19).
Other calls: Police responses included motorist assistance at 3:48 a.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard, Corvallis). PPD reported seven traffic stops.
SATURDAY, APRIL 12
• 2:49 a.m. — Police arrested a 23-year-old Monmouth man during a traffic stop at Northwest Third Street and Northwest Van Buren Avenue in Corvallis on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .08 through .14).
Other calls: Police assisted other agencies on calls at 7:37 p.m. (Applegate Street and South 14th Street), 10:15 p.m. (Southwest Country Club Drive, Corvallis) and 11:34 p.m. (South 30th Street). PPD reported 12 traffic stops.
SUNDAY, APRIL 13
• 11:29 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a person screaming for help in an area near South 13th Street. The rodeo grounds and Marys River Park and Natural Area were searched by vehicle and foot. No noise or anyone in the vicinity was located.
Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 6:25 p.m. (Highway 34). PPD reported 18 traffic stops.
MONDAY, APRIL 14
• 2:25 p.m. — Police assisted a citizen in the 1900 block of College Street with accessing a vehicle that had accidentally been locked with a child inside.
• 6:40 p.m. — Police responded to a situation of a woman who reported that some personal items had been taken from a friend’s residence after he passed away. After investigating, the issue was determined to be a civil matter.
• 7:37 p.m. — Police assisted at the scene of a two-vehicle crash at Highway 20 and Highway 34. No injuries were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included public assistance at 10:01 a.m. (South 16th Street), parking complaint at 10:53 a.m. (North 20th Place and College Street) and property found at 8:50 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 5:49 a.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis) and 1:47 p.m. (North 16th Lane). PPD reported three traffic stops.
TUESDAY, APRIL 15
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 9:23 a.m. (South 15th Street), harassment via text at 1:07 p.m., and a noncriminal issue at 1:40 p.m. (Cedar Place). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 9:31 p.m. (Highway 20 near Kings Valley Highway). PPD reported four traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 16
• 11:26 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at a North 19th Street residence involving the parents of a runaway who was looking for their child.
• 12:28 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an individual who appeared to be passed out at the bus stop in the 2000 block of Applegate Street. The person in question claimed to have been ill and tired and stated that no medical assistance was needed.
• 1:32 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the Philomath High School parking lot involving parents of a runaway who had approached other juveniles to ask about their child. An officer attempted to contact the parents by phone.
• 1:51 p.m. — Police responded to Main Street and South 20th Street for a report of a crash based on a phone notification that had been received. Police were unable to locate any incidents.
• 2:13 p.m. — Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct in the 300 block of South 17th Street involving a man who had yelled at a real estate agent after thinking that they were not supposed to be in a house that had recently been sold. The person reporting the incident believed the man was possibly having mental health issues. Police were unable to locate him.
• 11:33 p.m. — Police arrested a 26-year-old Philomath woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol under .08) during a traffic stop at Pioneer Street and North Ninth Street. The woman was cited in lieu of custody and released at her residence.
Other calls: Police responses included a parking complaint at 2:34 p.m. (North 11th Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
THURSDAY, APRIL 17
• 3:52 p.m. — Police arrested a 63-year-old Lebanon man at College Street and North 19th Street on a warrant for contempt of court.
• 4:18 p.m. — Police arrested a 37-year-old Philomath man at College Street and North 19th Street on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended.
Other calls: Police responses included a suspicious vehicle at 9:11 a.m. (College Street), city ordinance violation at 9:37 a.m. (North Ninth Street), littering violation at 9:59 a.m. (South Ninth Street), dog at large at 11:45 a.m. (South 19th Street and Chapel Drive), dog barking at 8:21 p.m. (Applegate Street), harassment via text at 9:40 p.m., and a suspicious vehicle at 10:17 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.
