Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, NOV. 21

• 1:02 p.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting at a business in the 1700 block of Main Street. The store’s owner reported the theft of tools that had occurred on Nov. 17. The loss was estimated at $67.

• 5:22 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a man pacing and yelling at people in the area of North 14th Street and College Street. Police were unable to locate him.

• 6:37 p.m. — Police took a report from a resident on Main Street that he had thrown away two firearms in his apartment building’s garbage bins.

• 8:25 p.m. — Police assisted the Corvallis Police Department on a call at Southwest 53rd Street and Southwest Philomath Boulevard involving a man who had been running into traffic.

Other calls: Police responses included a noncriminal issue at 11:10 p.m. (McCall Way). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 10:41 p.m. (Main Street and Clemens Mill Road). PPD reported 11 traffic stops.

SATURDAY, NOV. 22

• 12:56 a.m. — Police responded to a report of an argument in the 4400 block of Northwest Apple Tree Place in Corvallis, a situation that involved a man allegedly throwing rocks at a woman. The caller said he confronted the man and following a brief scuffle, the suspect left the area. Police searched the area and were unable to find the man.

• 1:19 a.m. — Police arrested a 45-year-old Corvallis man at Northwest Pinecone Way and Northwest University Place in Corvallis on a warrant out of Linn County. The man was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.

• 2:04 a.m. — Police contacted juveniles in the 1700 block of Main Street for violating curfew. The parents were notified and the juveniles were released to an authorized adult.

• 1:47 p.m. — Police took a report from the father of a woman involving a no-contact order violation that had occurred the previous day. The woman did not answer the door and the suspect left.

Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 10:55 a.m. (North 15th Street), non-911 issue at 4:51 p.m. (South Seventh Street) and motorist assistance at 9:24 p.m. (Main Street and South 21st Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 8:32 a.m. (Pioneer Street). PPD reported 10 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, NOV. 23

• No calls of significance were reported.

Calls: Police responses included an extra patrol at 9:04 a.m. (Main Street) and an animal complaint at 7:58 p.m. (North 19th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 1:44 p.m. (Southwest Philomath Boulevard). PPD reported four traffic stops.

MONDAY, NOV. 24

• No calls of significance were reported.

Calls: Police responses included a report of a dog at large at 12:40 p.m. (Pioneer Street and Canberra Drive), suspicious person at 1:10 p.m. (Quail Glenn Drive) and a wallet that was found and returned to the owner at 8:44 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

TUESDAY, NOV. 25

• 1:36 a.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a DUII investigation on Highway 20 about 4 miles west of Blodgett.

• 10:29 a.m. — Police responded to a report of second-degree theft from a business in the 100 block of North 14th Street. Two mats with a total value of approximately $630 were stolen.

• 5:14 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a man acting aggressive in a convenience store’s parking lot. A transient male, who admitted that he had been drinking, told police that he was camping in the forest near the C2C trail and stated that he was waiting for rain to stop before heading back to his camp.

Other calls: Police responses included a juvenile complaint at 9:07 a.m. (Philomath Middle School) and a parking complaint at 11:48 a.m. (Applegate Street and South 11th Street). PPD reported three traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 26

• No calls of significance were reported.

Calls: Police responses included a non-911 issue at 8:11 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.

THURSDAY, NOV. 27

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included harassment with loud music at a residence at 1:56 a.m. (Newton Street) and a curfew violation involving a 14-year-old girl at 2:56 a.m. (Main Street and North Eighth Street). PPD reported four traffic stops.
