Editor’s note: This report is based on information submitted by the Philomath Police Department. All calls for service may not be included. The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.
FRIDAY, OCT. 24
• 6:13 p.m. — Police arrested a 20-year-old Scappoose man in the 1000 block of North 19th Street on misdemeanor charges of reckless endangering, driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol .15 to .19), failure to perform the duties of a driver and reckless driving following a collision.
Other calls: Police responses included a repossessed vehicle at 2:04 a.m. (North Eighth Street), assisting at the scene of a medical situation at 8:46 a.m. (North 19th Street), civil dispute at 2:44 p.m. (Applegate Street), situation involving a cat at 2:57 p.m. (Applegate Street), dog at large at 3:21 p.m. (Main Street and North Ninth Street) and a parking complaint at 8:36 p.m. (College Street). Also, police added several items to its evidence room of property that had been found or turned in — A Coach purse with three gift cards and $56 in cash, a driver’s license, ammunition, a key, a green purse/wallet with identification inside, gray phone, key chain with keys and locks on it, a Washington-issued driver’s license and a ring. In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 11:01 p.m. (Southwest 53rd Street, Corvallis). PPD reported no traffic stops.
SATURDAY, OCT. 25
• 1:45 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a tree that fell on a vehicle in the 1500 block of Main Street.
Other calls: Police responses included a dog complaint at 8:15 a.m. (South 23rd Street), welfare check at 5:11 p.m. (Main Street and Newton Street) and a landlord-tenant civil dispute at 7:20 p.m. (Newton Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 12:57 a.m. (Highway 20 and Highway 34). PPD reported no traffic stops.
SUNDAY, OCT. 26
• 1:51 a.m. — Police responded to the 1100 block of Applegate Street for a report of the theft of a firearm.
Other calls: PPD reported six traffic stops.
MONDAY, OCT. 27
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 10:04 a.m. (South 13th Street and Applegate Street), dog complaint at 1:30 p.m. (North 12th Street) and an argument between adult male and female at 5:28 p.m. (Pioneer Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 4:29 p.m. (South 31st Street). PPD reported five traffic stops.
TUESDAY, OCT. 28
• 1:10 p.m. — Police arrested a 27-year-old Philomath man on a charge of contempt of court following an incident related to violating an order.
• 4:18 p.m. — Police responded to a parking complaint at Philomath City Park involving a vehicle parked in a grassy area marked “do not park on grass.” Police were unable to locate the vehicle.
Other calls: Police responses included a disabled vehicle at 3:07 p.m. (Main Street) and a dog barking at 9:10 p.m. (South 17th Street). PPD reported no traffic stops.
WEDNESDAY, OCT. 29
• 8:04 a.m. — Police responded to a report of shoplifting from a business in the 1700 block of Main Street with the suspect on video.
• 2:21 p.m. — Police arrested a 37-year-old Eugene man on misdemeanor charges of second-degree criminal mischief with crime damage following a domestic disturbance between two adults at South 13th Street and Applegate Street. No injuries were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included trespassing at 8:40 a.m. (Philomath Community Church), dog at large at 9:14 a.m. (North 12th Street), trespassing at 11:53 a.m. (Main Street), park ordinance violation at 6:57 p.m. (College Street) and trespassing at 9:06 p.m. (North 14th Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 10:07 a.m. (Fern Road and Grange Hall Road). PPD reported three traffic stops.
THURSDAY, OCT. 30
• No calls of significance were reported.
Other calls: Police responses included an argument with physical altercation at 11:52 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 9:58 p.m. (Pioneer Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.
