Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, FEB. 21

• 7:55 a.m. — Police arrested a 57-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of failure to perform the duties of a driver with property damage following an incident at Jona’s Market on South Eighth Street. The situation involved a vehicle that struck a tree in the parking lot. The driver was later identified, cited and released. 

• 10:39 p.m. — Police arrested a 37-year-old Corvallis woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants (blood alcohol content not given) during a traffic stop at Main Street and North 15th Street. Police later took the woman into custody on a mental hold.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog at large at 8:08 a.m. (Main Street and South 21st Street). In addition, police assisted another agency on a call at 6:17 p.m. (Applegate Street and South Ninth Street). PPD reported 24 traffic stops.

SATURDAY, FEB. 22

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 6:32 p.m. (Highway 34). PPD reported 40 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, FEB. 23

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included an extra patrol at 9:57 a.m. (South 30th Street). PPD reported nine traffic stops.

MONDAY, FEB. 24

• 6:32 p.m. — Police took into custody a 51-year-old Philomath woman on a mental hold.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen assistance at 4:38 p.m. (Main Street) and traffic hazard at 5:07 p.m. (Applegate Street and South Seventh Street). PPD reported two traffic stops.

TUESDAY, FEB. 25

• 3:32 p.m. — Police arrested a 42-year-old Philomath man on warrants for failure to appear on criminal citations.

• 5:04 p.m. — Police responded to a report in the 2600 block of Main Street of a handgun that was reported as stolen from a vehicle in either Philomath or Corvallis.

• 6:55 p.m. — Police responded to a crash at South 13th Street and Applegate Street. No injuries were reported.

• 7:47 p.m. — Police responded to a criminal mischief call in the 100 block of South 14th Street involving an individual that discovered scratches on the hood of a vehicle.

• 8:40 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a middle school student that had told his parents about a classmate that made threats.

Other calls: Police responses included a dog complaint at 9:29 a.m. (South 13th Street and Cedar Street), parking complaint (South Eighth Street), parking complaint (North 14th Street) and citizen contact at 7:42 p.m. (South 13th Street and Applegate Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 26

• 2:48 p.m. — Police arrested a 37-year-old Philomath man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop at Ash Street and South 19th Street.

Other calls: Police responses included citizen contact at 8:16 a.m. (Applegate Street), city ordinance violation at 1:44 p.m. (Quail Glenn Drive), citizen contact at 1:51 p.m. (Main Street) and citizen contact at 3:17 p.m. (Applegate Street). PPD reported one traffic stop.

THURSDAY, FEB. 27

• 5:09 p.m. — Police assisted the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on a crash on Kings Valley Highway near milepost 28 involving a motorcycle collision with a deer.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 5:09 p.m. (Kings Valley Highway). PPD reported no traffic stops.
