The status of incidents might change after further investigation. Locations are approximate and may not be included if it could identify victims of certain crimes of a sensitive nature (sexual abuse, stalking, etc.). Individuals are identified in the log only if arrested on felony charges. Calls that involve the Department of Human Services and minor children are not included. Juveniles are not identified. People arrested or suspected of crimes are considered innocent until proven otherwise.

FRIDAY, JULY 4

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police assisted another agency on a call at 3:17 p.m. (North Ninth Street). PPD reported 14 traffic stops.

SATURDAY, JULY 5

• 3:37 a.m. — Police arrested an 18-year-old Sweet Home woman on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop near North 19th Street and Main Street. The woman was cited in lieu of custody and a passenger with a valid driver’s license drove the vehicle from the scene. 

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a suspicious vehicle at 3:04 a.m. (Main Street), death investigation at 6:28 p.m. (Tasman Place) and an extra patrol at 11:32 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported 29 traffic stops.

SUNDAY, JULY 6

• No calls of significance were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a welfare check at 12:28 a.m. (North 16th Lane), lost dog at 1 a.m. (Main Street), juvenile complaint at 1:58 p.m. (address not reported) and a parking complaint at 2:02 p.m. (Applegate Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 10:40 a.m. (Bellfountain Road) and 7:07 p.m. (Main Street). PPD reported 13 traffic stops.

MONDAY, JULY 7

• 9:13 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a transient who was using drugs at Pioneer Park. Police observed the individual using a vape pen with no illegal activity.

• 3:40 p.m. — Police conducted a traffic stop while in Corvallis in the 1400 block of Northwest Ninth Street and detained an individual until Corvallis Police arrived at the scene to investigate.

• 4:51 p.m. — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 500 block of Applegate Street involving damage to a stop sign. No injuries were reported.

Other calls: Police responses included a report of a city ordinance violation related to tall grass (Coastal View Drive). In addition, police assisted other agencies at 4:30 a.m. (North 12th Street), 10:54 a.m. (Fern Road and Powderhouse Road) and 4:20 p.m. (North 12th Street). PPD reported 14 traffic stops.

TUESDAY, JULY 8

• 8:51 a.m. — Police responded to a report of third-degree theft involving vehicle parts in the 3100 block of Main Street. The missing items were estimated to have a value of $30.

• 2:35 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a hit-and-run incident in the 500 block of Canberra Drive involving a vehicle that was struck on the passenger side sometime within the previous three weeks.

• 8:33 p.m. — Police responded to a report from Philomath Fire and Rescue of possible reckless burning involving a small grass fire in the 200 block of North 13th Street that likely had been ignited by fireworks.

• 11:11 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Applegate Street and South 11th Street. Two individuals were located going for an evening walk.

Other calls: Police responses included contact with a citizen at 2:41 a.m. (Main Street) and a dog in a hot vehicle at 1:35 p.m. (Main Street). In addition, police assisted another agency at 6 p.m. (Highway 34). PPD reported two traffic stops.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 9

• 11:54 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a child screaming in the 100 block of Neabeack Hill Drive. Police parked in front of the house and could see and hear multiple children playing and having fun in a backyard pool.

• 12:29 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an overnight residential burglary in the 300 block of North 18th Street with the suspect on video. According to a police report, the suspect entered the home while the occupants were sleeping with a purse and other miscellaneous items of limited value stolen.

• 11:40 p.m. — Police responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance involving a man who was observed via camera entering a residence. No signs of forced entry or criminal activity were observed. The homeowner was advised to report if any items were missing or out of place.

Other calls: Police responses included a mental health situation at 12:01 a.m., mental health situation at 4:11 p.m., citizen assistance at 6:33 p.m. (North Eighth Street) and the trespassing of a man from a business (Main Street). In addition, police assisted other agencies on calls at 11:12 a.m. (Main Street) and 9:16 p.m. (Whitman Way). PPD reported eight traffic stops.

THURSDAY, JULY 10

• 11 p.m. — Police arrested a 32-year-old Corvallis man on a misdemeanor charge of driving while suspended during a traffic stop in the 100 block of South 14th Street.

Other calls: Police responses included a police hold involving a woman experiencing a crisis at 9:44 a.m., parking complaint at 11:50 a.m. (Richard Place), juvenile complaint at 1:46 p.m. (address withheld), mental health situation at 2:38 p.m., foot patrol at 8:14 p.m. (South 13th Street), private property tow at 9:34 p.m. (Main Street) and a domestic disturbance at 10:54 p.m. (Cedar Place). PPD reported seven traffic stops.
