The Philomath Museum will open a new exhibit Saturday exploring how Americans have marked the nation’s major milestones from the 1876 Centennial through the 1976 Bicentennial.

“Centuries of Celebration” features artifacts, memorabilia and cultural symbols from both commemorations, showcasing how each era reflected the values, aspirations and spirit of its time. Through the objects on display, visitors can experience the evolving ways the country has honored its history while looking toward its future.

The exhibit is scheduled to remain in place through Jan. 2.

The Philomath Museum is located at 1101 Main St. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
